Bob Caldwell
1946-2009
I got to visit with him quite a bit at Trina's event and really really really liked him.
He was one of the nicest human beings I have met in the industry!
This is truly a huge loss...
Although I did not know him well, what time I did get to spend with him gave me the warm fuzzies you get
when you are in the presence of a truly nice person with a good heart and I felt that big time with Bob.
My heart goes out to his family and friends.
I know he will be greatly missed and will be remembered as one of the good ones!

It is with great sadness that we hear of the passing of this warm, caring and wonderful individual, our friend;
Bob Caldwell...
I think Bob epitomizes Will Roger's adage that "He never met a man that he didn't like."
Bob embraced his character and made time to speak to anyone that was drawn to him. You could always tell
that Bob was having a great time and enjoying his "celebrity". A case in point and a lesson for us all, I think.
All heartfelt sympathy and prayers for Bob's family. He will be sorely missed by you, his Crooners family and
all that had the great good fortune to meet him.
God bless and God speed, Bob.
"Make it so..."
-- Mark Stulce, Associate Producer, Crooners Unlimited; Neil Diamond
Jim, I am so sad to hear this news.
Although I didn't know Bob very well, he and his wife were a delight to chat with.
-- Samira (Tina Turner)
I only got to know Bob the past year. He was very enthusiastic and I was very excited about working with him.
He will be missed.
-- Jennifer Ramsey, Ramsey's Replicas
We will all miss you Bob! You were a wonderful person and a true gentleman!
-- Charlie Franks (Elvis)
How tragic. I'm in shock. So sad for his family, on Christmas too. Please give them my condolences. At
least he got to enjoy being Picard for a little while. And he was so great, too!
-- Susan Sackett, Author, Inside Trek; personal assistant to Gene Roddenberry
Bob took A Very Special Place in my Heart, and He Will Always Stay right here in my Heart. We were talking a
couple of months ago, maybe a few, anyway Bob gave me a Hug and Said That My Dad and Mom would Be
Tickled to See Me On Stage and Proud, and That Meant the World to Me. Thanks Bob, for your Sweet Humble
Nature. Bob had the Same Stature and Nature as My Dad Who Passed away only a Couple of years ago. My
Next Song is for You Bob.
-- Cyndi Cantrell (June Carter, Minnie Pearl)
I read this once -
A golden heart stopped beating,
busy hands now at rest.
It only goes to tell us,
God only takes the best.
-- A Friend
Bob would email me from time to time and include photos of his "surfer dude" son. Some of the photos were
spectacular, with great wave shots...he loved his kids, his wife and his life. He rarely complained, always
encouraged and was an absolute joy to be around. My husband and I had the opportunity to take Maureen
and Bob around Las Vegas this past Spring and they were like two little kids, wide-eyed andso excited. They
toasted each other at Paris Hotel at Mon Ami Gabi and tried to "lift" a vase at the Bellagio (it was at least 10
feet tall). Such fun, such love, such sadness now. We all have sweet memories of a man many admired
and few could impersonate.
-- Gracie and Greg Fulljames, Crooners Las Vegas
My first and uppermost thought right now is, "Why him? Why now"? Bob was that rarity, a humble man who
portrayed a prideful and dignified character - and did it with both humility and dignity. I consider this a
tremendous loss to both the tribute industry and to the Crooners family. I am mourning this loss as I would a
member of my own family...and then I remember how tremendously fortunate we are to have met him to begin
with, and to have witnessed him achieve success as an impersonator in such meteoric fashion, while
remaining down-to-earth and a pleasure to be with. "Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his
was the most...human."
-- Jim & Mary Speiser, Crooners Unlimited

How do you say goodbye to a person like Bob? The first time I saw him, he was a greeter at Fry's
supermarket in my hometown of Surprise, AZ. He always stopped me and reminded of my resemblance to
Sir Elton John. I always gave him one of Jim Speiser's cards and encouraged him to "make it so" as did my
wife on every occasion as we made frequent trips there, hoping he was at work, hoping just to chat. I was so
thrilled to learn that he had gotten a position with Crooners and wanted to make a special visit upon my return
to Phoenix to congratulate him and chat again as we had for so many hours. Life is so full of irony to where
you can make a friend so very fast and lose one just as fast without the opportunity to say so many things you
want to say.
My deepest sympathy goes out to Bob's family during this time of mourning. I never had the privilege to work
alongside Bob but it would have been an honor to be given the chance.
You did it, my friend, now make it so.
-- Eric John (Elton John)

OMG how terrible. I never had the opportunty to meet Bob, but my heart goes out to his family. What a terrible
shock, but even more so at Christmas. Please accept my sympathies and prayers .... for his family, and
prayers for Bob.
-- Anne Kissel (Roseanne)
We met Bob in Las Vegas and I had the honor to shake hands and talk to him . I didn't need much time to
realize that he was a very special and humble person. His smile was contagious! He succeeded in making
the Terminator smile. My grandmother also passed away on Christmas Eve and she believed all her life that
on Christmas time and Easter the heaven is open. We will miss you Captain Bob/Picard. Our prayers and
thoughts are with his family .
-- Paul and Maria Plesca (Terminator Family)
Please send my condolences to Bob’s family. How very sad to hear of his passing. Thank you for letting us
all know.
-- Barbara Capozzi, Classique Productions
All of our sympathy and condolences and prayers to his family.
-- Al (Freddy Fender) & Pat Trejo
We're still shocked.
Caught a glimpse of Bob at the Imperial Palace, wish I had the opportunity to make his acquaintence (he was
quite popular).
I recall reading of his show in Glendora, CA - - his sensitivity and kindness to the star trek fan dying from
cancer...that's the way to do it Bob! What a champ!
Our prayer: the peace that passes all understanding are with his wife and family..
God Bless -
-- Rich (Englebert) and Val Butler.
I feel that we have lost someone with one of the biggest hearts and who was willing to help anyone who
needed it.
My heart and soul are deeply saddened by the loss of a truly wonderful human being, he will truly be missed.
-- Richard Hampton (Kenny Rogers)
Although I had never met Bob, it seems from all the responses that I missed out on knowing an incredible
man. Please know that his family is in my prayers and may Bob rest in peace.
-- Larry (George Strait) and Bev Turner
With a heavy heart from all of us at CROONERS UNLIMITED PALM SPRINGS, we wish Bob Caldwell's
wife and family best wishes at this sad time.
-- Rod (Willie Nelson) and Annie Marshall, Crooners Palm Springs
I didn't know Bob personally but throughout the site build we exchanged emails and I found him to be a lovely
man, with great good humour and a balanced appreciation of his fortunate talents, reluctant in the limelight
but aware of the joy he could bring to the followers of the genre. I also read many testimonials to Bob's kind
nature and I know that we have all lost a good man. I am so sad but thankful to have worked with Bob for even
such a short period. What a great pity for the entertainment world but of course what a terrible tragedy for his
family and friends.
-- Paul Shotan, Webmaster for Bob's website (UK)
So sorry to hear of the passing of Bob. He was such a dear and a gentleman. I wish I knew him longer. My
prayers are with his family.
-- Carmen (Patsy Cline, Connie Francis) and Tony Ruiz
